Wisps of White
On this night, I watched ionized oxygen atoms collide with nitrogen particles, creating a magnificent display of rare blue Aurora. Beautiful, subtle wisps of white are visible near the center of the display, high above my head, adding another layer of detail to an already unusual scene. It was such a rare and magical thing to witness. I love that this image captures both the beauty of the moment and a hint of the science unfolding in the sky.
