Twilight Mirage

This photo was taken in Bettles, Alaska, north of the Arctic Circle, in subzero conditions. The full moon was reflecting off the roof, the ground, and the trees, which gave everything this soft glowing light. Then there was that simple ribbon of green in the sky and the smoke from the chimney, which pulled the whole scene together for me. It is a quiet image, but there is something really special about it. Cold, still, and full of atmosphere.
